Joana joined Asabys in 2025 has part of the Aliath-Asabys integration. At Aliath Bioventures, Joana was involved in sourcing and assessing biotech investment opportunities. Prior to Aliath, Joana was an Investment Fellow at Ysios Capital and before her venture capital career, Joana contributed to a clinical research study in prenatal maternal health (immunology) and worked as an HCPC-registered biomedical scientist (clinical diagnostics) at NHS England.
Joana holds a PhD in Bioengineering from Imperial College London and a master’s degree in Nanotechnology and Regenerative Medicine from University College London. Her doctoral and master’s research centered on the development of non-viral delivery systems for oncology.
