Asabys Partners certifies with Bureau Veritas its Social Responsibility Management System aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from United Nations

Asabys Partners, venture capital firm investing in innovative companies within the healthcare space, announces today the certification of its management system of CSR aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals from United Nations.

Asabys, who has been in business for almost 3 years, has considered sustainability as a fundamental pillar of its strategic objectives since inception and, after months of work to start up its CSR management systems, has proven not only its genuine vocation for impact activity but has also undergone an audit and certification by Bureau Veritas.

In 2015, the United Nations General Assembly set the Sustainable Development Goals in the 2030 Agenda, a collection of global goals to eradicate poverty, protect the planet and ensure prosperity for all. The SDGs reflect the most significant needs of the planet and humanity and therefore, are a compendium of the most relevant risks and opportunities that any organization will have to face in the coming years.

Asabys becomes the first venture capital firm specialized in the health and life sciences sector to obtain this certification. Asabys was born in 2018 with a special focus on innovation and impact investing, with the aim to address unmet medical needs and with a genuine sensitivity for sustainability. Its first fund, Sabadell Asabys Health Innovation Investments SCR SA, has closed with commitments close to 90 million euros from institutional investors, national and international, family offices and insurance companies, among others. The Fund has already made 11 investments in its three verticals: biotech, medtech and digital therapeutics, all of them with great impact in the healthcare space.

Aware of the importance of assuming full responsibility for its potential social and environmental impacts, Asabys has carried out this process together with Planet Fair Play, consulting firm specialized in sustainability.

“By certifying its CSR Management System aligned with the SDGs, Asabys Partners is taking another step in its crucial commitment to sustainability. At Bureau Veritas, we are proud to support our clients in the challenges of the ecological transition and the construction of a more responsible economy,” explains Bertrand Martin, CEO of Bureau Veritas Spain and Portugal.
